"Beautiful..."

*This was her final stop. Maybe that was why it seemed so lush, so unnaturally beautiful. She wanted to lie on the banks of the river forever, taking in the sounds and feelings and sights of the river. The day was young, she spent hours walking up and down the river, looking at the birds, and fish. Learning how they all interacted, the stream, the fish, the birds, the plants, the earth. It was all one. At the end of the day, the stars came out, gently, one by one. She thought that they seemed to be above this complicated world, watching, sort of waiting, but never interacting. This was the odvious lesson. That she and her people must be like the stars. The thought of withdrawing from the world of men made her feel tiny, and hollow. But she wanted to be a druid, and if this was what it took... she fell asleep, trusting the stars and the gods to watch over her.*
