Subject: Our Spirit

The snows reflected the candlelight that evening
As carolers pitched in their arpeggios and glee.
Singing Christmas stories that are not re-write able
In the traditional eyes of you and me.

Sugarless candy canes line the city walkways
And twinkling lights spasm in their odyssey.
Racing around magnificent buildings and decors,
Turning the snowy fields into a white out sea.

Life just happens in these simple times.
No access is denied in any faith.
Crucifix, Menorah, all welcome with arms
Wide open, and there, they do wait.

Pain granted a reprieve with good deeds done,
And sabotage of the soul is forgiven.
The carols sing of grace and mercy
And of the life that we were all given.

The lion and the lamb lay down this time of year
And prove to us that we can get along.
We only bring shame upon ourselves
If we say that this peace is wrong.

December 25, a day that all know
No matter their religion, nor race.
The red poinsettias bloom for Him,
And in our hearts, He has a place.

A place in our hearts sized to fit
Our morals and all our sins.
This time of year, we forget our misgivings
And open that place to let Him in.

He’s made our hearts such priceless art
We must never forget His sacrifice.
He died to forgive Man’s sin,
And for that, we mustn’t think twice.

The carolers now stroll down the lane
To entertain the likes of a homeless man.
To not judge this person amidst the alleys
Is all a part of God’s ultimate plan.

Do not judge, only live your life,
And put a smile on someone’s face.
Think unselfishly and give your heart
For, that’s what’s intended of the Human Race.
