you won this because your poem just flowed, it went far and beyond the call of the words and phrases... it had such style and grace and really got to my heart.....
and of course met all the requirements!!!

again..... as always...... ya'll are a tough crowd!!!! soooooo lori did have competition!! no doubt!!!

Subject: I am not Lonely

Every rose has its thorns
So says the cowboy in the song�
But I simply laugh
�cause I know it�s too true to be wrong.

Now, my heart ain�t bitter, and I don�t wish for death
Revenge doesn�t tinge my every wasted breath.
Velvet shimmers when darkness is laced with stars
And just like the Tomb Raider, our love can go far�.

Yes, love can go far.

I�ll write a poem that imitates Meatloaf�s voice
And keep convincing myself that paradise has yet to be found.
I�ll keep on shaking, no, I�ll keep on believing
That my feet are planted firmly upon this old ground.

Firmly on the ground.

I cannot lie, can�t exaggerate this feeling inside me
Is too great to be a mere coincidence.
Don�t deny the feelings that you feel
Don�t push me away and make our love ride upon the fence.

I am not lonely, I just want to be able to hold,
Able to dream and in the nights, not be so cold.
How can you turn away and walk out that door
And never return to me, and return to the love we had before?

Knowledge is power only in the aspect of perfect hindsight.
It does not matter if you were wrong or were right.
Who will be there is a frequently asked question
When you�re thriving in loneliness and isolation.

Isolation.

Now, the candle wax is melting in circular amulets.
The flame diminished, the thorn has risen once more.
Flame gave birth to the rose in its last ember breath
I am not lonely. I merely want to be a shadow upon the floor.

And like the movie I saw when a child,
I�ll be triumphant and wiser in the end.
I will have learned, that love prevails
So long as you �Stand by Me� and live as a friend.
