This was a tough one as i told ya'll at the beginning.... it really was. i am so sorry to say that 3 of the 5 entries were missing at least one requirement and it just made me shudder to have to disqualify those!!!!!! because the poetry was EXCELLENT!!!!! but in all fairness..... we had to go with the ones that met all the criteria....

if ya'll want details as to what discrepancies we found, please email me and i will inform you.

but cheyenne incorporated ALL the requirements eloquently, interestingly, creatively, smoothly...... and with depth and reality. just overall excellent poetry that really fell right into the required parameters. i am sure none of you will disagree!!!!!

Subject: keep on walking

it was Tuesday afternoon rainy and dreary
I was walking home stepping on the cracks in the sidewalk
I sidestep a cat to walk under a ladder
A poignant enigma washed over me as she sauntered past
It was the absence of disturbance that I found heartbreaking
Suicidal threats screamed from her when I looked into her urgent eyes
It was like I was in a parallel universe
Completely devoid of spiritual growth
Suddenly all around me sounded like a dead line of a phone
I realized the woman was lost
And no longer one of america�s sweethearts
It was almost comical to me the change only a month can bring
Once on top of the world she was now as lonely as a lighthouse at a deserted port
An ingenious idea to let the world crash down on her like a computer
Send her in critical condition of the heart
She was walking wounded
Living but dead among the happy smiling many
Crying inside her shallow body and hollow soul.
And she keeps on walking heels clicking down the cracked wet pavement
