Dark colt caught sight of her then and broke into a brisk canter, eyes bright happy to see her. What he didn't notice when he was fascinated by her is that on the other side of the fallen tree he'd just hurtled himself over, there was a bog. His hooves didn't find solid ground. It only looked like solid ground. He sank right in, momentum driving him to the bottom. He gave a cry struggling to keep his nose over the surface but it was cut off as he was swallowed up.
All was quiet, until the surface was broken by a thrashing ToJo in a panic. He screamed loud and kicked with his legs shaking off some of the moss from his head. He couldn't find the ground beneath the bog to stand on. He tried swimming but the moss was hard to move through. Finally, he turned back to the tree he'd jumped and kicked hard enough that he was thrown up enough to hook his nose over and one leg. Teeth bit down into the wood to try and hold his position. He could taste the green rot spreading there, the mold. It was disgusting but he didn't let go. His sorrel coloring the same as the red moss so he blended well all but those twin horns which stood out starkly. He was snorting heavily trying to hang on as his eyes darted about for something else that might be a solution.
