I've talked briefly about UJ with Patrick before - describing the hugely detailed and obsessive discussions that used to happen in the UJ forums, about everything from plotlines to physics to art techniques. I seem to recall Patrick being a bit disappointed that people didn't appreciate his plotlines as much, even though he put a lot of effort into them.

On the other hand, UJ has always claimed to be a fixed-length narrative, with a beginning, a middle, and an end (as opposed to an indefinite-length serial, like most webcomics), while T&R's first attempts at plot were retcon of fiendish complexity. Has Patrick decided to switch to grand-story-arc mode?

With the mention of 'let's ask the cartoonist to make up some physics', I'm feeling shadows of 1/0, another cool strip[1] I found on T&R's links page - which coincidentally made the switch from endless-serial to fixed-length-story about half way through.

Screwtape,

[1] The other one being UJ.
