As an unresearched, off-the-cuff response, I would think that maybe the College of Ag has more access to lab-type funding or machinery-type funding. Like how some CSC courses are listed as Computer Engineering because the word "Engineering" means more money for labs.

It could just be another mystery of the brilliance known as Cal Poly Administration.
