Subject: Utah State vs. Kansas

Utah States' 3 point loss to Kansas in this year's NCAA tournament and UCSB's 5 point loss to Arizona last year have to make one think that the Big West is getting stronger and possibly ready to make a move into the upper ranks of college basketball's mid-majors.

Further, Cal Poly basketball fans should be very bullish about next year's team based on the fact that the 2002 Mustangs will be returning Dennis, Shilling and Jackson, along with a solid recruiting class and a couple of quality transfers.

Kudos really need to be extended to Bromley, his staff and the '02 Stangs. They were picked to finish 8 in conference and nealy pulled-off a miracle by making the tournament. All this was done with a very thin bench, several starters that contirbuted little in terms of rebounding or scoring and a bench comprised of several walk-ons.

Keep it going Stangs and as a start, how about extending the winning streak over UCSB to 3 games.
