Subject: Was the Cupboard bare for Lee?

The fact that Josh Kogel is Poly's day-2 starter seems to suggest that Ritch Price left the cupboard completely bare (in the pitching department) for Larry Lee. To date, Kogel is 1-7 with an ERA just north of Anchorage. Especially after giving up 10 runs in the second inning of Saturday's game against CSF. In fact, Josh's only really good outing was last week's loss to Long Beach. In that game, a 2-1 loss he pitched like he belonged at the Div I level.

The last two weeks have been difficult for the Stangs and their fans, but Lee's a proven winner and once he has the chance to recruit some quality pitching, the Stangs will be at the front of the Big West.

Poly really has it all, excellent academics, beautiful location and superb facilities (e.g. Baggett Stadium). With this combination, they should be able to recruit against the best in the Big West and Pac-10.

As Garrett Olson said in the T/T yesterday, when you look at Cal Poly and the beauty of Baggett Stadium, you never want to leave the place. He's correct in his observations and Lee will convince others of the same thing. The future is very bright for Mustang Baseball!
