My roommate is a Business major, and I asked him about this issue. He told me that the College was trying to lay off a bunch of I.T. professors and staff. Also, apparently somebody donated a chunk of money to the department, through the college, and the college "misplaced" it before mysteriously finding it again when I.T. people started sniffing around.

Seeing as the College of Ag just got a million dollar donation, the I.T. department has more than one reason to pack it up and go.
