Subject: Jake... gone but not forgotten

6-7 years ago... i adopted 2 pugs, from a well meaning lady, but she was a backyard breeder none the less. Boomer... is a black masked fawn and blind pug and Jake was a sable and obnoxious pug LOL Luckily for jake, he needed to be fixed,,, so when he had him at vet to be fixed, they called us as they stressed concern for the "laying boil" as the woman has termed it on his leg. Well that boil turned out to be cancer! If i hadnt taken him, who knows how long he would have lived? Vets thought 6 months tops. Well we removed the cancer and jake lived a long and happy life here on the farm. In the beginning he was a pain, as he was born and raised , just to breed on kennels in a backyard. But soon he learned what the good life was! He learned of the joys of sunbathing in the afternoons, of the joys of balling up with other dogs on a nice beanbag chair. Of arguing with the pot bellied pig for the best spot in the doghouse. Jake had a tongue that hung out at all times to one side... thus he became the "tongue dog" to us all. whenever we went out, with a tilt of his adorable face, with his tonngue out, he won the hearts of all.A silly old boy, a silly bark at feeding time and a happy face at all times... I will miss you Jake and know I will see you again. Enjoy the good life of lounging around and say hi to Augie for me. Love yah Jake. farewell, till we meet again
