Subject: The Work of Botticelli

I think that so far Botticelli is one of my favorite artists. I like how he can paint both religious scenes, like the Adoration of the Magi, and mythological scenes, such as the Birth of Venus and the Allegory of Spring. Even though I like The Allegory of Spring and The Birth of Venus better, I think it is very impressive that he is such a diverse artist that he is not limited to one subject.

The one thing that I don't like about The Adoration of the Magi, is how similar it really is to a propaganda piece. Botticelli is practically screaming out "Here I am! Here are my friends!" as if he wouldn't get the recognition he deserved otherwise.
