Subject: Rigoletto

So far out of all the opera's that we've watched my favorite is Rigoletto.I feel that Gilda's death was half Rigoletto's fault due to the fact that he kept her sheltered and shut out of the world.I feel that if she got out more.. she would at least have a basic idea of what was going on.Everyone seems to forget about the maid. Here Rigoletto is trusting her to take care of her daughter, and instead she is overcome by greed, and selfishness, and lets the Duke in for money. So she is at fault just as much.
