Subject: Botticelli vs. da Vinci

I think Boticelli and da Vinci are alike in the sense that they both have a close relation to religion when it comes to their works of art. Da Vinci focuses on Catholicism and expresses it in these paintings to name a few: The very famous "Last Supper" and the beautiful depiction of many characters in "Madonna of the Rocks". Botticelli looks back to the Greek and Roman time and depicts ancient mythological figures in "La Primavera" and the "Birth of Venus". Although they seem alike in that aspect, da Vinci's paintings are much more darker and look somewhat dreary, while Botticelli's use of bright colors and atmospheres is alot more pleasing to me.
