Subject: Marriage of Figaro

I found "The marriage of Figaro" to be one of the best opera's we have watched thus far. It had many interesting twists and turns and kept my attention. Although I didn't find the performance to be as intriguing as the one we watched in class, I still found it to be entertaining. The only reason I say this is because I found the video we watched in class of The marriage of Figaro to have actors with more emotions and better quality voices. But I keep in mind that we were in fact watching a dress rehearsal.
The story line was appealing and I would have to agree with Mariel when she stated the Countess should have not forgiven the Count so easily because when the tables were turned, he was heartless and unforgiving.
Overall, it was a very well written Opera and in my opinion, the Countess had some of the best songs. I think she had the best songs not only due to the woman's singing ability, but because of the well written lyrics.
I look foward to the next class trip.
