I definately agree with Lisa about this version of "The Barber of Seville." The Rossini opera is a comedy without all of the stupid, distracting elements such as an indoor swing and umbrella dancers. I mean, why add something that the composer did not call for? After all, other versions of "The Barber of Seville" that I have heard of do not have such silly elements and are comical based on elements that Rossini and his libretto writer initally placed there. Why did the person staging this production feel the need to add all of that stuff? I mean, I have just started watching a different version of "The Barber of Seville" and enjoy it much more with the different, less circus-like staging.
