singin' in the rain.

so far the movie is quite funny at times, and the actors' tap dancing is amazingly good. the only thing that i still do not like is their singing. i just don't like musicals. to me, it makes no sense to have in a movie, a scene where two people are talking to each other, which cuts to another scene of them singing all of a sudden. in opera they switch from dialogue to song too, but it's different. i think it's different in opera because of the difference in music, acting, and the fact that it's done on stage, it's not a film with people dancing and singing. as of now, Chaplin and his silence are much better.
