Subject: 20th Century Art

As I read through the message postings of many of my classmates, I noticed a popular trend indicating that 20th century art is not widely accepted or enjoyed, I find myself agreeing with this viewpoint. As a lover of art in general, I do appreciate the effort of the artist to express themselves however they see fit, and if this "abstract" and complex work is how they see fit to do so, I have no right to say otherwise. However, I do not understand much of the work, nor am I able to see anything represented in it. For example, Pollack's work does not inspire me at all, in fact, it confuses me. Yet, if the work meant something to him, or that was his goal, he has succeded and I have no right to insult his artist intent.
