*She leads him into the barn and brushes him down. She gets out a light english saddle and sets it on top of the saddle pad. Shish Kebab stands there cautiously, his ears up and alert. She slips the girth under his body and begins to tighten it, taking it slow. He starts to side step but she quickly but calmly grabs his halter and talk softly to him. The new, heavier weight on his back makes him skittish. She calms him down and again tightens the girth. She keeps the girth loose yet tight enough that it won't slip under his belly. She again snaps the lounge line to his halter and takes him out to the round pen. She lounges him, putting him through his paces. He does well, so she walks over to him and tightens the girth more. He stands there paitiently, knowing that it won't hurt him now. She calls a groom over, and tells her to put some wait on the saddle. The groom caustiously lays her body over the saddle. K tries to side step by Jen calms him down with soothing word. She make K take a few steps forward then stops him.* Now, when I tell you carfeully swing you leg over the saddle without hitting his rump and slowly and lightly sit in the saddle. *The groom does as she is told and K throws his ears back and bulks up. The groom steadies herself in the saddle, ready for anything, while Jen steadies the horse. Once he is calm, Jen walks him around, letting him get the feel of weight on his back. Soon he walks easily around the pen. Jen stops the horse and steadies him so the groom could get down.* Thanx, tomorrow I want to lounge him with you up there if you feel up to it. *The groom nodes.* Great! *Jen walks K out of the pen and takes him in the barn to untack him and brush him down. She puts him back out in the pasture. Then goes back to the barn to get ready for her new horse that is to come.*
