[ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 13:31:58 02/14/02 Thu Greetings my loyal subjects, I hope that my bold capital letters in the title of this message caught your attention. I write these lines with great sadness , but it seems the beloved Ed Pignut will not be playing the bass for us in the near future. The circumstances surrounding this shock news are still unclear ,initial reports suggest that it is due to a nasty bit of wrist chaffing at the last gig resulting in Ed or Andrew as he is really known losing the use of his right hand.Other reports by eyewitnesses claim that Ed severed the tendons in his strumming arm whilst picking up the mail in his luxury penthouse flat - a paper cut is suspected. A reliable source however maintains Ed has suffered a bizzare finger suction incident ( Similar to the one which incapacitated Ben Pignut last September) a rare medical condition where the finger or thumb is caught in the anus or ear rendering the victim embarrassed and more often that not with a 'stinkyfinger'.If this report is true then Ed will probably miss the rest of the season. Personaly , I think the wrist injury was caused by excessive waving, probably seeing a loved one off on the way to the shops to buy a newspaper, or possibly by stroking a kitten. Either way our deepest sympathies lie with the memory of Ed`s wrist and the hours of complicated bass joy they brought us.Thankfully his beard is safe. Do not fear though , we are still going to be performing the up-comming gigs @St Josephs well-Leeds & The Flapper & Firkin in Brum as we are currently training up our emergency Bassist with a strict 11 hour a day programe of scales , lager , Happy meals and He bitch slaps....
