Subject: How is it going ?

Hiya guild friends and friends who read this that isn't in the guild !

I was just wanting to know how things are going !

I said before that my goal will be to atleast log on twize a week to be able to meet you all and still be part of the EQ comunity. Maybe some of you might not be playing those times that Im logging nowadays and to you all I just wanna say Im still here.

And now to something completely different.

Diablo2

Diablo2 has gone gold and me being a beta tester must agree with thousands of others that Diablo2 will be the best game ever created.

Being part of the beta is the main thing that made me lose the feeling for EQ.

Just look at my little list of pros and cons comparing diablo2 to EQ.

Numbers of players in EQ : 500 to 2000 around
Numbers of players in Diablo2 : 8 is max in a game but guildhalls will support around 30 !

Numbers of characters in EQ : 12 or 13 with Kunark I think, then many differnt classes.
Numbers of characters in D2 : 5, Barbarian, Necro, Sorceress, Amazon and the Paladin.

Graphics in EQ : total 3d
Graphicks in D2 : isometric 2d with 3d enhanced graphics for spells and lightning.

Items in EQ : Thousands of items, some on camps, some no drop, no level requerments, some really rare random in kunark.
Items in D2 : There will be normal items, Magic items, Rare Items (Better magic basically), Uniqe Items ( Kinda like what the description says.) and set items. Kinda like Angels dagger, angels wings and so on. When all Set items are on a character some special bonuses will be awarded.
All items in Diablo2 are random drops. No camps here.

Max level in EQ : 60 with kunark
Max level in D2 : 99

Skills and spells in EQ : Alot of skills and variety allthough impossible to gain them all with playing all characters..would take to long time.

Skills and spells in D2 : All 5 characters have 30 uniqe skills making it a total of 150 skills in the game.

At level up in EQ : U gain 5 practise points and your skill caps raise.
At level up in D2 : U gain 5 atribute points and 1 skill point wich you can use to train your skills.

Attributes in EQ : Str, dex, agi, wis, int, chr maybe I missed some !?
Attributes in D2 : Str, Dex, Vitality, Energy.

Resistances in EQ : poison, magic, cold, fire, desease.
Resistances in d2 : all but desease.

Apearnace in EQ : What you wear and hold affects your apearance.
Apearance in D2 : What you wear and hold affects your appearance. You can wear helm, gloves, chest piece, rings, amulet, shield, or dual weild (barb skill) and boots and belts. I think rings and belts dont show on screen though.

Bla bla bla bla I can go on and on and on and on for agaes comparing the games and It wouldnt do it justice.
On the above comparisons EQ even beat the crap out of D2 so why is D2 so much better ?

If you want to play EQ you have to put aside atleast 3 hours. It takes 1 hour to get to where you want to hunt and to find a group and to get to the group and to get started. Then if you even want to advance you have to spend atleast 2 hours to get some pixels and then you have to have some time to get to a safe spot to log off. And if you die you lose so many playing hours its not even funny.

In Diablo2 you can log on, wich is free by the way. You can join a game on their secure cheat free servers (Wich EQ also are) and then after 1 min you will find yourself in a dungeoun killing and slashing and hacking and nuking monsters to the left and right with heavy AI on the mobs and awesome graphics and sound and you can ally in groups or you can go agro and start PvP your enemies. When you die you simply get back to your corpse and with one click you loot all and you are set to hack and slash and nuke again.
Some tricky quests and the linar plot makes it even better. and the replayability is awesome. three difficulties where the harder ones wont be no joke like in Diablo1. A Blizzard employe once said that going alone into the hardest difficulty is suicide. So even here group and ream work is encuraged. The game also works great in Single player and ofline or in a lan. You can play for 15 minutes if you feel like it and dont have to run around looking for a group for 2 hours. You can find the best item in the game if you are lucky since all is random. Wich you have to camp for over 24 hours to get in EQ.

Bla bla bla I can go on and on...Im just so sure now.
After playing d2 and going back to EQ I was sitting medding for my mana I thought damn this is no fun...a game must be a game and if I want to wait I can like go take the bus or something and wait for that.

Give Diablo2 a try when it gets released in July.

It will be the best game ever made !
Eq will fall to the people that tries Diablo2.
Thats what game play is all about.
