I understand that we have a bright future ahead but right now we should be pissed at this team. We are losing games that we should not be losing - and some of it has been the coaching (that will get better as well he IS the right guy) but this team regardless of our preseason expectations should have many more wins then they have.
The Siena game and this one - I just dont get why you dont foul when up 3 with 5 sec left.

Games they have no excuse losing this year
Siena
Delaware (game 1)
Loyola
Columbia

But I think I'm mire pissed about this one then the Siena game - the Siena game we couldnt hit FTs but this all we had to do was foul 1 time

Every coach makes some decisions that look better in hindsight, but for the most part this is all on the players.

What is Loyola shooting against Marist this year from the free throw line, 95%? Been their about 40 times too. Teams get second chance shots after second chance shot.

It's futile, until they improve those two areas, watching Marist and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity.

We all thought this was going to be a tough year and that's how its turned.

I would love to see them upset the big boys come tourney time. The only problem is they'd have to play back to back. Taylor would have to play at least 20 minutes. Not that I have a huge problem with that.

Goodwin continues to struggle, great game by Ryan today. Bauer seems to be playing with more purpose the last two games. He did some nice things on offense today.

Author: Andy [ Edit \| View ]	Date Posted: 19:03:04 01/25/09 Sun Oldfox there is one thing to think it will be a tough year and go 7-15 knowing you really didnt have a shot at winning any of those 15 but when you literaly give away 4 games and have a very good chance at winning 3 others (Rutgers, Binghamton, Manhattan) - you can't write it off to well we knew they would be this way. This team should easily be 11-11

I agree. The year should be better than the results. I still go into every game thinking they have a pretty good shot at winning. That in itself means it's been a decent year. Bauer was really good today. He played like he's capable. With Drummond coming in, they are going to have one of the best, if not the best frontcourts in the MAAc. They'll have nice size. Hopefully Vouyoukas hits the weights. If they had Carter this year, they'd have at least 4 more wins. He's a pretty good rebounder for his size.

Lets get them out of our system hopefully the player will remember how much its sucks to lose. Then this summer instead of screwing around they'll take an extra 100 FT's and jumpers.

No Schneider or Kaylen, who has been a revelation, next year, but a nice mix of experience and youth to build upon. Chuck's gonna feel like he had two first years of coaching at Marist, with all the new faces to integrate.

I haven't read the thread, so I apologize if repetitive.
Key things that stood out
1) Pathetic first half from both teams. Flow was ruined by ticky tack calls on both teams.
2) Excellent second half, the Marist players energy level was noticeably better.
3) Loyola with CLUTCH free throw shooting, that shows a winning attitude IMO. Swished almost every single one, must have hit like 24 of 26 or something like that.
4)Marist wanted this GAME BAD. Martin played the same 5- Taylor, Devezin, Bauer, Kaylen, Schneider for the entire second half almost.
5)Bucky F'n Dent, Aaron F'ing Boone and Kaylen FUCKING Gregory. The former coach should be arrested for holding this guy back.
6) Bauer has arrived and needs to play 25 minutes at least every game.
7)Rediculous shot to end the regulation, some would think Marist is cursed by a ghost:).
8)Hall is gonna need a confidence boost, he has really come up bad at the end of games recently and is hanging his head.
9)Harvey with a great road game, clutch all game.
10)Only negative for Loyola fans is #33. His greatest contribution will be as a head coach in the future. Sorry, but best thing for them was him fouling out. Parris equally as bad for Marist today.
11) Loyola had a contingent of fans that traveled. I am always amazed when fans will travel that far for regular season game. Great job by those fans.
12)Martin is a good coach, has this team in every game and it will pay off soon.
13)Marist will shock at least 2 teams this year in the MAAC tourney.

They need to rebound the ball, teams get way to many second chance shots, and the foul shot are embarrassing. If you're gonna give your opponent a ton of foul shots every game, then you need to make your own.
