Thanks for your encouragement.

You need to store the image somewhere, not necessarily a tiff file. If you don't have too many images, you can keep them in memory, like an array of TDibGraphics. You decide what you do on the TScanner.OnAcquire event. Saving to a multipage Tiff or DCX file is convenient though. Saving to DCX may be faster as the compression is less complex.

For the beta of version 2, you need to use the same user/password as version 1. For the official release, there will probably be an upgrade fee.
