Subject: Ended up losing by a couple of goals, was an entertaining game...

Macrae ended up the highest ranked player on the ground;
30 touches, 6 Clearances, 1 goal. Good effort.

Charlie Dean probably our next best, ended up with 23 touches and 6 marks in a defence that was under siege at times.

Sullivan almost got us over the line late with some near misses, others showed glimpses, DeMattia was OK on debut, Parker looks like they are solid and tough, Jiath looks classy and is already demanding the footy and giving us drive out of the back half.

Simply put we lacked a genuine KPF and a genuine ruck and that is more or less what cost us the game, Kreuger, Steene, McSaty (not that he would be playing seconds) and Eyre would all have helped us today.

The doom and gloomers who seem to mostly watch footy so they can complain about something will say we have nothing in the 2's, that is definitly not my impression, overall I would say there is probably more AFL potential talent than we have had for a few years and fewer Callam Browns who can play at an "elite for VFL" level but have no chance of sustaining a career at AFL level.

Can see us having a pretty good defence by mid year with Dean, Jiath, Ryan, etc once they all start to really gel.

GO PIES!!!!!
