My belief we should of backed in what we had and kept the picks. Our VFL squad is looking as bare as any time I can remember for talent.

No faith in our youth from the list management and some imo still not proven belief that the draft is unessecary and that old sides can stay up with just trading in role players.
Ignoring Geelong bought in 2 stars in Dangerfield and Cameron and also very good a graders in Isaac Smith and Zach Thouhey.

They also got pick 7 off GC and kept all their first rounders slowly introducing them and in turn slowly churning thier 22 over.

Pies trade out 6 firsts...target a role player of high cost in position we had covered.

Now they also come out and swear off the draft because list refresh through trading is better then the natural cycle and drafting a core to come through.

Remind me what did Geelong give up for Paddy Dangerfield again?
Pick 9 and 28 plus a long shot in Gore.

Compare with pies for Schultz.

Pick 7 to 12 and pick 34.

1 was a genuine power midfield superstar to extend a teams cycl, the other a work horse FP that had only 2 years out of 8 worth mentioning and was delisted in said years.

We overpaid for his type and for a position we had covered in excess.
