Subject: Our MF ranks 12th out of 18 ….per mighty Mick McGuane

( from Herald Sun)
“… Darcy Cameron, Jordan De Goey, Tom Mitchell, Nick Daicos
As much as I’m reluctant to take him away from halfback, Daicos needs to be in the Magpies’ starting midfield regularly. Scott Pendlebury has been a champion of the club and competition and provides great footy IQ and leadership around the ball, but you can’t afford to play him alongside Mitchell and De Goey in the middle for huge periods. When the ball spills into space the speed to get after the loose ball just isn’t there. Daicos provides speed, along with creativity and inside-50 precision when he is in there. So the baton change might be taking place in front of our eyes. Jack Crisp is the intriguing one. There was a message sent to him two weeks ago when he was named as substitute. Crisp can go through the midfield and add some energy and bounce but the challenge is ahead of him to rediscover some form. The ruck combination of Cameron and Mason Cox are getting their hands on the footy, with Collingwood ranking third in the competition for hitouts to advantage. But there is some work to do for the reigning premiers, given they sit a lowly 12th for clearance differential and 16th for points from centre bounce. ”

Ps the interesting thing is that he rates a midfield containing the ( imho) rising star of of the comp ….Newcombe plus Day as 18th
