Subject: Few thoughts...

1. This is the best example I can think of of how this side has changed since Fly took over. Amazing belief and commitment to nab 4 points that looked gone for all money 5 minutes into the 3rd.

2. At some point, youth tips over, you add one to many youngsters, and when they are looking for confidence and guidance and they look left and they look right and they just see other youngsters looking left and right, then at some point it can all fall down. We came within a bees dick of that this week and thank god, the cavalry is coming.

3. Shultz and Hill both leaped back into peak form with this game, and I am excited to see what they can bring to our side in the back half of the year.

4. Loved Howe forward, loved Frampton back. Can we just go with that please? Dean and Frampton make a good traditional KPD pair IMO, and will free up Moore to be that athletic, intercepting CHB who can start really influencing games offensively. Howe should pair well with Checkers and with Shultz and Hill at their feet and Kreuger providing a target and relief ruck minutes we should look more balanced at both ends than we have for a long time.

4. In terms of the kids again, Harrison looks the best long term prospect of the group right now, is neat, has pace, looks strong through the body, can snap, can mark, can tackle, has really seized his chances, a very good development year for him. Sullivan looks small, but he is a high score involvement player, to my eye does a lot of smart, neat, constructive stuff, has really been dumped in the deep end and again, this will be fantastic for his development. Jaith showed glimpses and that's all you can ask, has had a taste, hopefully is not needed again this year but is banging down the door by the end of next pre-season, can see him going past Noble and Markov pretty quickly. Dean looks more comfortable every game to my eye, not sure where he ends up, but for now is a solid defensive citizen. Macrae and McInnes both poor, both would want to go back to VFL and start really dominating, haven't written either of them off, but they are certainty in last chance saloon next year. Finally Kreuger, well, made it through another game, 1 goal 2 behinds and 1 assist doesn't suck, and IMO gives us the capacity to move Frampton back and play Howe forward which we should definitely do.

5. Some doubt on Pendles getting back for the Suns but if he does I would love to see DeGoey play in the forward group. just think a front six of DeGoey, Checkers, Lippa, Shultz, Howe, Hill, with Kreuger as the relief ruck/3rd tall forward would be a really dominant mix.

6. Which brings me to McCreery, thought he did an excellent job in the second half bringing pressure in the midfield. Every side right now is looking for a tagger, could he be ours? I would like to see him tried there on the most damaging opposition mid for a few weeks to see what he can do, he could rotate with Pendles off the bench as our 4th and 5th centre square mids behind Cameron Nick and Crispy, allowing DeGoey to play more forward minutes, and take a HBF 'r up the ground into general play, something he can do to devestating effect.

7. Sidebottom, maybe his best bet to sustain his career is for us to push him into more congestion and let Lippa sweep onto the space on the wing? he has looked good the last couple for weeks "thickening the soup", but (IMO) is simply to slow to play permanent inside in this era, and rapidly becoming too slow to play genuine "outside" either. Still and elite scrapper and user though, so it has to be about finding a happy medium for him to impact.

8. Nick Daicos put us on his shoulders in the 4th and won us that game.

GO PIES!!!!!
