Subject: Josh who please ?
In reply to: Annabelle 's message, "Saw this in The Hun. Maybe we are in the Battle for Josh with others." on 11:35 26/06/24 Wed

If he is so obvious ….then I shouldn’t need to ask .

Looking ‘25 and beyond
Our two most Prolific Mids for a decade plus Mitch might be gone or ( at a minimum) on the wane

Howe ? ( neither he nor Darcy Moore are indestructible ….so we need back D. Talls)
Will Dean and/or Eyre help out ?

Does McStay get back effectively ?
Does Freddie K cut the mustard ?

Is Camo still carrying the rucks or do one or more of Steene , Smit or even Eyre provide effective back up ?

So what or who is “ the one we need the most?”

If I had to single out one answer I’d do it with a Question
What is the common denominator between the diminution in output between
Cats ( cf other seasons)
Tigers ( ditto)
PP ( cf early 2024)

Answers
Cats ..no Selwood
Tigers…Dusty is no longer the singular driving force and Cotchin their long serving captain also retired
PP….the early season MF dominance has diminished with injuries and suspensions

So my start point would be looking at the list and asking about the engine room — assuming Nick continues on track — how confident are we that , long term, improvement will come from these players to adequately replace the three older mids mentioned above
JDG
Lipinski

Maybe

McCreery
HH

But who else ?
