Billy was at the time ( all 178 cm of him) the only forward with half a clue about leading and taking a grab
Hence coach Bux played him as a target forward
The result …the young bloke was hammered . Week in and out matched v bigger stronger players who were equally quick
Injuries followed
Iirc he missed roughly 2 seasons
If we’d had ( for eg) the mix that the Swans have , Billy’s lot might have been so much easier

Now Nick has it all in front of him in the centre …like Cousins had except that Ben had Mainwearing, Judd, Kerrto distract and protect and feed
This needs addressing sooner rather than later ….ageing mids like Sidey, Pendles and Mitch have been wonderful for a decade plus …but as mids ?
Eg Sidey , like Hyohen can play anywhere on a flank or pocket ditto Pendles
…..could either have been less impressive than IQ tonite ?

We need at least one extra hard bodied big mid in there to assist Nick
