MF ….there is a mix of rare skill , decent skill , and experience
What’s lacking is serious grunt and ( Daicos bros and Crisp apart ) , deep flat and direct delivery
If I had my pick of young players from other clubs I’d choose Newcombe
If we had a decent replacement for him and he was fit ( he looked to cop a corkie) I would play Maynard there
But one defender drafted for the role , Ryan , has always looked skinny and Harry is just working his way thru VFL. The other two possibilities are Parker ( currently injured) and Long

Defence
Moore Howe and Maynard have been the three consistent leaders here .
To my eye Frammers is blessed with size, athleticism and he is a terrific kick .
“ Body on Body” or Playing in front are foreign languages to him
Nobes provides the dash
Injuries mean that we will need to try others because Oleg is hit and miss and IQ is playing poorly …jittery below the knees and his kicking is the stuff that “spoilers” love
We might need to look at playing Checkers at HBF

Forward and scoring
If …and it’s a huge IF , we can get the ball down quickly , there is listed talent to create a winning score . I would persist with Fred and consider Eyre who will surprise with his mix …tall, athletic and good user but at least may assist in creating spills for a talented mix of smalls Bobby H, Sgt S , Richards
