To be fair Ginni had unique skill in areas of winning the loose ball, evasion of opponents when he had it and finishing.
His flair excited the masses and in turn lifted team spirits.
On the downside ….dont count on him to take too many marks, and forget about including his chase and tackle stats . Further, as he showed in the GF last year against a good opponent and in Sydney in ‘22 , he can go missing and make decisions that leave you scratching your head or offering - “ he’s still a kid” type excuses.

So far Sgt S is much more bland and predictable , but you do know this
- he is fearless
- he will chase and tackle regardless of the size of opponent or even numbers of opposition
- he can and does mark under pressure
- his goal kicking is competent
And , even allowing for individual idiosyncrasies , you’d suspect that the good Sgt won’t need to be told by the Club that …” mate…it’s not all about you “

We made the choice and even without Elliot, Ginni and Checkers , but with Sgt , newbie Ruchards, the always returning Fred K and emerging HH we have scraped in
