The grandson of a club legend.

Blair’s grandfather , John OMahney played 112 games for the Hawks and was a Hawks Hall of Famer , Reserves Coach and Selector . His footy influence is referenced today by Brian Cook in his H/S article today .

Blair’s loyalty to the Pies seems to be continuing as several players ( Hutchinson , pies VFL before WCE snapped him at mid season this year , and Sparkes who played several games in VFL pies this yr and was mention in best players)

In one sense ( preserving club/family tradition) there is a debate worth having about extending the bloodline pick preference , yet as we all know , bloodlines don’t necessarily guarantee success and , even within close , footy loving families personal options do and should exist ….rather than be mandated .
