Subject: So Wright does the honourable thing and resigns in November as he was burnt out..
In reply to: The piemeister 's message, "See inside" on 09:21 07/09/24 Sat

The Club, valuing his contribution to the cause over the previous 3 years, doesn't accept his resignation and gives him some sort of wanky "consultant" role. Then he "learns" in April that he won't be coming back.

What a monumental cock-up on a number of fronts.
1. Why not accept his resignation - genuine it appears - and then appoint somebody to take his place? Nope, we give him a sabbatical and then weaken the onfield performance by pulling the wonderful Leppitsch and Bolton out of their current roles in order to plug gaps left by Wright's holiday
2. Wright - instrumental in delivering Flag16 - is then told in April that he's not returning. Ordinary treatment! If I can surmise, it smacks of a self-important and "cowboy" type CEO using his power and influence to overlay his blueprint on The Club moving forward.

Everything that I've heard or read seems to suggest that the CEO is micromanaging The Club at every level. Not sure if this is in the best interests of Collingwood. Although he's the most senior employee of our club, I pray that this isn't a return to the McGuire days where one person can impose his considerable will on an organisation.

Ned has successfully run his own company where, presumably, his word was God and he was the ultimate decision maker. In his current role, words such as collaboration, inclusivity and compromise need to be actioned rather than given lip service to.

My biggest fear is that Kelly's brashness, confidence and self belief has given rise to a "my way or the highway" management style. Such an approach can quickly give rise to disharmony, dispiritedness and a culture of fear.
