Also, with the season we've had, the stability of the VFL side has also been less-than-ideal, so this also has an impact on how players can adapt to a style of game and plan that the club is trying to address across both the AFL and VFL program.

I am still holding out some level of optimism that at least a couple of the likes of Macrae, Allan, McInnes, Ryan, Jiath and Demattia will offer the senior team something - they have not been afforded the "fast-track" exposure at senior level due to the success we had in 2023 and the ongoing selection of established (though aging) players in preference.

I think greater opportunity at AFL level for these guys will come through need in 2025. That will finally indicate whether they are up to the task or not.
