There's always likely to be players linked to the Pies because that gets media circulation happening more than most other movements.

And I agree that we are "actively" seeking to trade....but what does this mean?

I would hazard a guess that EVERY club will look at MULTIPLE players who are either Free Agents, or out-of-contract or even in contract, and speak to their managers about the situation with the player - whether he is happy, whether he is looking to shift; looking for opportunities, etc.

If asking those questions of a player is a sign of "actively being in the market", then I would guess that Collingwood (like many teams) would be linked to DOZENS of players EVERY year!
