We've discussed this ad nauseam but in no universe was Lachie ever worth a first and second rounder. Once we were silly enough to submit to the latter, that should have been the end of the story.

Even though we were willing to part with Ginni, the Hawks valued him and surely would have offered more had we spent the time bargaining with them. It's fraught with danger and a bit of hubris to predict that we will finish high on the ladder the following year so be content with devaluing our future picks. The even 'competition' should be warning enough.

So even if ambit claims don't bear fruit, they at least inform the other party that we won't cave in for a modest return.
