Subject: back-testing and r-squared

Does Dekka Hine or anyone involved with CFC recruiting have any understanding of concepts of ‘back-testing’ and R-squared ..rhetorical question.

Why do we continue to pick un-athletic plodder types that are too slow /not powerful enough for an increasingly athletic /explosive AFL? Finn Macrae taken before Max Holmes, why?

Why do we continue to pick tall skinny types that display little-no-big-man traits as our pseudo key position players? Liam McMahon taken before Shannon Neale, why?

Stephen Wells at Geelong has for such a long time prioritised athleticism /ability to run as a key attribute ..unfortunately Hiney didn’t get the memo or has failed to grasp the evolution & demands of the modern game.

Who took over Hiney’s role when he called out McCreery so late in the draft ..?

Until someone at the club develops an understanding of the concept of back-testing and R-squared our recruiting will remain stuck in the dark ages.
