Subject: Perhaps there's several reasons
In reply to: Birdman 's message, "Jack Lukosius" on 12:27 15/09/24 Sun

As others have stated, his existing contract and the cost of it (including the cost of any trade) is something we are not keen on forking out.

Then there's some suggestion that, while he may be of key position size, he has yet shown a propensity to play AS a key position player.

Then there's a bunch of unknowns to us, but perhaps the club has been made aware of certain elements of these.

For example, perhaps in speaking with his manager, his manager has suggested that he definitely wants to ge home to SA - and even if he were to get away from the Gold Coast (to get to Vic for instance) he would be looking to move to SA within 2 years of this move anyway.

Then it all comes down to a pros vs cons assessment and risk assessment by the club.

We still don't know if the club is or isn't "right into Jack Lukosius"....all we know is what is being reported and what is being reported remains a game of "cat and mouse": between the clubs; between the players/managers and the clubs; between the clubs and the media; between the players/managers and the media.

It's no use getting hung up about this (I still do occasionally, mind you...but nowhere near as emotionally involved as I once was) - it is of "interest" value to me these days, because I know that the result will be what it is and I can't really affect anything about it - so why worry?

Let it all play out and we'll get who we get.

After Buckley departed, the club was meant to be "at least 5 years away" from being in Premiership contention according to many pundits, and according to many fans as well.

Two seasons later, we have a Flag.
