I too was a bit surprised he was ready for AFL this year but I'd estimated he'd become a "regularish" player in 2025 (i.e. year 2).

Yes, there was a "What AFL role?" element and going to a team that had established genuine talls was a good fit for both him and club, moreso than clubs desperate for a genuine KPP. However, pre-draft, IMHO he never looked destined to be just one of those "very good VFL but not really AFL" types.

He was drafted roughly where I would have anticipated and what he's shown hasn't surprised me. How early he's shown it is what has surprised me, somewhat.
