It looks like Elliott took the ball at a higher point, and that the ball was travelling with much greater forward momentum that Hill's where the ball was actually dropping with a steeper downward trajectory.

Also, the balance and hang required of Elliott atop McKay (I think it was) seems to have had a greater level of difficulty.
