_total disposals (Obj)
_fantasy points (Obj)
_coaches votes (Sub)
_media votes (Sub)
_umpires brownlow votes (Sub)
_Wiz & sam-E's votes (nonsensically Obj)

these are all measures, some objective, some subjective!

they're all relevant afaic, just depends on how you value them as a measure / assessment of individual performance (b&f) and contribution to the team performance & result

the umpires votes are likely the most 'subjective' in the context of what else they have going on at the time and their (in)ability to access objective data (stats) before awarding votes

the umpires are pre-occupied with officiating a game in front of 90,000 screaming fans, trying to process the million+ possible interpretations across a gazillion rules. they're assessing the B&F on the day, in their own eyes ..but are they best placed to do that?

fantasy points are underpinned by a scoring methodology that rates & scores each of the disposals (kicks, HBs, tackles, goals etc etc. it's another measure or benchmark of each player's performance / contribution on the day and it's objective. you can question the veracity of the methodology for allocating fantasy points but it simply works off the player's disposals

my point is, the brownlow, in its current scoring incarnation, should be more accurately (re)-named, the BEST & FAIREST (IN THE EYES OF THE UMPIRES) AWARD!
