Just painting a scenario - people see the potential movement of Houston to the Blues as "another player to go elsewhere because we can't get a deal done" and he is seen as a "gun" player.

Personally, if we were able to somehow get our hands on pick 12 using Noble and a "picks for points" swap with Gold Coast, I'd consider using that pick on something other than someone like Houston. (could it be used for Petracca or be used to beat the Cats to getting Smith?)

And if a trade worthy of pick 12 isn't forthcoming, I'd contemplate slightly lower (but multiple) picks in a stronger draft such as this one...could we turn pick 12 into something like 18 and 24 (even with another later pick thrown in)?

Reality would suggest that we are likely to land pick 20 for Noble as being the most realistic outcome - but a lot will depend on what we can offer Gold Coast in return to boost their points value to acquire their Academy targets.
