Just cos Dekka’s trajectory for picking good players capable of lacing their boots up on afl stage, has headed for the Katie Perry back catalogue, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t draft in another recruiter and go to the draft

At Geelong, a generational key forward in Hawkins has just retired and the heir apparent, Shannon Neale - 22 yo, 90+ kgs, 203 cms, runs like the wind, vice like hands, kicks it long, does big man stuff, looks the goods for the next 10-yrs - was recruited using a pick (#33) in the 2020 national draft. Young Dekka had 5 picks in that same draft before 33.

Betchya Fly would be happy if the list mgmt guys could somehow magically trade in Neale to play in his forward line next 10-yrs. Here’s an idea, how bout we go to the draft and bring in someone that can play and stop making so many excuses for why we keep butchering our picks. If it’s so hard and a ‘lottery’ then sack the current guy and go build a model to make the calls instead!
