I also want us to a long term part of AFLW, because we should have a perennial VFL/AFL/AFLW presence.

The AFL's 'Fois Gras' approach to AFLW, however, has been a shambles. They've put the cart before the horse in so many aspects, with particular respect to number of teams and making it professional before time.

I'm pretty sure James Hird had a job in the early 1990's and that it was about the mid 90's when players became full time.

But the AFL and AFLW are trying to ramp up the game long before it has a genuine presence. It's ideology is noble; but often a noble ideology is grossly misgiven in reality.
