I can't stand the modern app based industry with it's intent of addiction and tracks problem gamblers and tries to get them back on the punt if they show signs of breaking the addiction.

Unless there is more to it though, I wouldn't put the Stepho story down to the hideous industry that it's become.

Get it off apps and back into brick and mortar TABS with no tracking of punters. There'll still be problem gambling, but people who do it as harmless fun can still do it and people who do get addicted have a chance of breaking the addiction.
