Subject: Agree Frump ….but with Xmas spirit in mind..
In reply to: Flumpus 's message, "Frampton can't compete in the air and looks like a spectator when the ball comes in" on 15:37 23/12/24 Mon

His genuine pluses are these
For height and weight he is remarkably athletic ..ie mobile ( quick , long striding, and can jump. ) These aspects stood out when both big C’s were out injured and he rucked. He wasn’t Len Thompson Mk 2 , nor big Carl, nor Gawne ( one has to take marks and be physically dominating to qualify there) nor even Big “ O” from Brisbane , ie making up for any deficiency with sheer endeavour all around the ground…but he was effectively competitive .
Toss in that he MIGHT be one of the best handful of decent long flat kicks in the team
But there are frailties
He is utterly clueless in body on body competitiveness . No idea . Can’t get close to his immediate opponent .
Reading the ball in the air and understanding when to use his good natural leap are areas of the “ unknown”

Can these be altered or improved ?

Let’s face it …if an individual can learn to learn foreign languages , or Shane Warne can hone his cricket skills to add a new ball to the Leg Spinners Cricket dictionary …leggie, toppie , wrong un and then, ….all his own work “ the Flipper”
of course Frammers should be able to improve his game
Will he though ?
Surely any coach will identify these awful weaknesses and constantly pair him off for competitive marking, spoiling and tackling plus ground work . But there is heaps of work to do .
Just my opinion
