Reef didn't play "small" up forward. He was a medium to tall medium forward who was being asked to play a quasi KP role most of the time.

I find that most players in that role tend to struggle at AFL level and I don't think it's Reef's best spot and even then he jagged 1.4 goals per game this year.

His best role IMHO is what they are grooming him for. If Jez and Moore can drill him to zone off and intercept the way Murph did, then he'll be of excellent utility.
