To be fair BN I’ve only told half the story, I left out the embarrassing parts.
I’d gone there with a mate I played footy with in country S.A.
I went and bought us a couple of beers then wandered around looking for my mate (who was single and always on the hunt). After a full lap of the bar I found him in a corner with McKenna et.al.
Early in the conversation my mate (the salesman) pipes up with “You know Peter, kirbs was a hell of a footballer”. At that moment felt like crawling under a chair, McKenna replies “where’d you boys play?” My mate Dicko responds we played b grade for the Magpies at Kalangadoo. He didn’t giggle, laugh, smile or even ask WTF is that.
He just said with a straight face that’s fantastic you got to pull on the black and white.
