In reply to: Joseph 's message, "Leigh Matthews answers Nick Daicos or Sam Darcy selection question" on 18:51 25/03/25 Tue

acknowledged that Sam was a clear winner in the first half, using his freakish height and reach and placing himself in front of his opponents, principally Moore.

But in the second half, Moore decided to body him and we organised Howe often to be the third up to support. Sometimes another would body him and Moore could leap and spoil etc. Bucks said he was impressed how Moore adjusted and has felt he needs to use his body more.

I noticed this being practised at training prior to the Port match.

Sam D is still a handful though as Darcy Cameron would also come into the mix and occasionally be outmarked too.

Nonetheless Leigh's point seems to be that coaches will work out strategies to combat him.

The main strategy to combat Nick is a tagger like Bedord who can run with him.

Callaghan is another player from that draft posing problems for his opponents. He torched Pendles in round zero, admittedly a tall task for the old guy.
