Subject: I think it's that he can add something to our side...
In reply to: Flumpus 's message, "What was the rush with Long?" on 20:12 28/03/25 Fri

As per the club he is currently the best pressure player in the comp per minutes played.

He is a huge unit who can tackle even the biggest and most powerful mids ala Bont and Cripps.

He is hard to tackle himself as in the much commentated moment Bale tried to wrap him up late vs Doggies and bounced off like a rubber ball.

We have one dynamic superstar in Nick, and one prospective gazelle in Allan, Long, if he can cement a spot, could provide the defensive ballast to allow those two to explode from stoppage for years to come.

Throw in Perryman, who is a smart, hardworking all-rounder who can rotate from midfield to half back with Josh and Houston and, if all goes well, McGuane, who can rotate through midfield and half forward with Hill and Hayes, and we stand a chance of having a competitive midfield for years to come.

I said at the end of this preseason that he was slipping under the radar of some, was absolutley matching it in the guts in match sim with Pendles and Perryman etc and looked to really have grown in confidence and understanding of what was required.

Not there yet, but a worthy re-signing.
